Tone Radio is the official broadcaster of Wychwood 87.7 FM; a dedicated FM station which will runs throughout the festival weekend and adds to the already fantastic Wychwood experience.

The Wychwood Music Festival was launched in 2005 by a group of festival enthusiasts wanting to create an intimate and thrilling weekend festival experience, delivering not only the best acts of the day, but up and coming music, and some other specialties you might not ordinarily come across

The Wychwood Music Festival quickly gained a national audience and reputation thanks to its eclectic mix of music and creative programming. Time Out described the Festival as 'an excellent hybrid of the Big Chill, WOMAD and The Cambridge Folk Festival'.

Wychwood 2009 was the most successful Wychwood festival yet and had an amazing line up of big name acts such as Supergrass, Super Furry Animals and Little Boots, all the way to local heroes Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun.

Besides all the live music there were workshops, children's book readings,  cinema, live comedy, healing gardens, fantastic local and international food and a giant riding around on a bike!

The project was a joint effort by Tone Radio and The University of Gloucestershire. All of our presenters are student volunteers who have been involved with Tone Radio alongside their university studies. Wychwood gives us a fantastic opportunity to enrich their student experience by broadcasting from a live music festival as well as providing up to date information, news, reviews and interviews over the weekend.

If you attended wychwood 2009 you no doubt saw our friendly green shirted volunteers milling around and capturing the sights, sounds and smells of the festival. Perhaps you were accosted by them to give your views on the weekend, if so then listen out for yourself in the Wychwood podcast!
